Tom Selby

Tom, originally from Sussex, joined the team at Rostons in 2015 after working for a firm of Rural Surveyors in Knutsford, undertaking Estate Management and Valuation work where he qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in October 2014.

During Tom’s placement year from Harper Adams Agricultural University, he worked for a National Utility Surveying firm based in Cheshire. After University, Tom travelled to New Zealand and assisted on an 800-herd dairy farm for 18 months, which was an invaluable experience.

Tom then decided to return to Cheshire to pursue a career in Rural Surveying. Having trained and qualified working for landlords and estates, Tom decided he would rather be working for individual landowners, farmers and tenants.

Tom thoroughly enjoys working for a range of clients throughout the region, undertaking a variety of diverse projects. He’s currently very involved in representing a number of landowners and occupiers affected by HS2.

Throughout the year Tom attends the Cheshire Grassland Society as well as Weston Agricultural Discussion Group. In his spare time, he helps on his wife’s dairy farm and enjoys the occasional rugby match.
